Welcome! My name is Dr.
John Garlock, founder of the Family Resource Centers. We have served the Houston
metropolitan area for twelve years. My education includes earned doctoral
degrees in Counseling and also in Psychology. I offer you a great deal of
experience, having worked in hospitals, outpatient centers, our schools, and in
Employee Assistance Programs with all age groupings and types of people. I enjoy
what I do and I believe you'll discover that I am effective at what I
do.
Because Houston's
Family Resource Center is a family owned business, we offer a relaxed and
reassuring atmosphere that is missing from many larger outpatient practices. Mr.
Art Albracht, M.Ed, LPC, LMFT, has been working with us for eight years and
offers an indispensable variety of specialized clinical
services.

Focused Therapy
At
Family Resource Centers, we focus on the solutions to your difficulties. Through Solution Focused Therapy,
individuals and families are able to work with the therapist to develop
solutions to problems identified by the client. Such therapies are designed to get to
the root of the problems that have been identified.
When
to ask for Help
Many people who need
support and encouragement never ask for it. They are afraid if they ask for help
they may appear weak, be labeled as crazy, or look dumb or stupid to their
friends. Some are afraid others will find out they went for help and conclude
they have a "mental problem."
Nothing could be
