Answer

When your child doesn't listen it is frustrating and makes you question your sanity as a parent. You wonder, "Why is this happening to me?" You wonder, "Am I a bad parent?" Neither of these is true. Your asking these self probing questions tells me that you are listening to your child and that you are genuinely interested in your child's welfare.

Your child may not be listening for one or more reasons. Your child may not know how to screen out distracting noises to listen to you and your communication may occur at times and places where distraction is occurring. Your child may have a physical problem and may require hearing evaluation to insure that they are able to listen to you and to others. Your child may have undiagnosed AD/HD and, if so, they can be evaluated to determine if they have AD/HD or another problem that gets in the way. To learn more about our AD/HD evaluation and treatment services, click here now to go to our AD/HD Program information.

Your child may have a auditory processing problem or may have an auditory memory problem. To learn more about this possibility, click here now for information regarding the Processing And Cognitive Enhancement (PACE) Program. This program can teach your child the skills that they need to be successful in school without a need for medicine or special education. If you have a question about AD/HD or the PACE Program, please click here now.

Your child may not listen to you because they do not want to. They may have oppositional behaviors or traits which cause them to resist your consultation, information and advice and direction. This is a behavioral issue which interferes with their behavior and actions everyday. To learn more about our Kid's Cope Program, click here now!

Don't continue to "fight the battle" any longer. Why not take control in your home today?
